Need help, found a bug, disagree with a number, or want a calculator added? Email caglarbozkurt@outlook.com and we'll get back to you, usually within a few days. It helps to include your device model, iOS version, and — if it's about a result — the exact inputs you used so we can reproduce it.

What is Assay?

Assay is a bench calculator for scientists. It covers the everyday math of the lab — protein and oligo properties, molarity, dilutions, ng/µL ↔ nM, buffer pH, ligation ratios, agarose gels, RCF ↔ RPM and more — and, unlike a bare calculator, it shows the formula behind every result and warns you about the mistakes that quietly ruin experiments.

How accurate are the numbers? Where do they come from?

Every tool has a “How this is calculated” section with the exact formula and its references. Protein MW, extinction coefficient and A₂₈₀ are matched to ExPASy ProtParam (Gill & von Hippel 1989; Pace et al. 1995); oligo Tm uses nearest-neighbour thermodynamics (SantaLucia 1998). Where a value is an estimate — for example pI, or a Tm without Mg²⁺/dNTP corrections — the app says so. If you ever get a result you believe is wrong, email us the inputs; correctness is the whole point of the app.

What's free, and what's in Pro?

The core calculators are free — molarity, percent, basic dilution, resuspension, RCF ↔ RPM, reverse-complement & translate, and the basic protein properties (MW, ε, A₂₈₀, pI). Assay Pro is a one-time $9.99 purchase (no subscription) that unlocks the recurring workflows: the tagged-construct builder, A₂₈₀ → concentration, PCR/qPCR master-mix scaling, multi-component buffer preparation, serial-dilution planning, and unlimited saved constructs & rotors that reuse across every calculator. Scientific correctness is never behind the paywall.

I bought Pro but it's locked on my other device (or after reinstalling)

Assay Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple ID. Open Settings in the app and choose Restore Purchases — as long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID you bought it with, this re-unlocks Pro at no charge. If it still doesn't restore, email us.

Is my data private? Does it work offline?

Yes. Your sequences, reagents, saved constructs and every calculation stay on your device — there's no account and no advertising. The calculators work fully offline. The only time Assay contacts the internet is when you fetch a sequence by its public UniProt ID, and even then only that public ID is sent — never your own sequences. Optional anonymous usage analytics is off unless you turn it on. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Can I enter a sequence by UniProt ID?

Yes — in the protein tool, switch the input to UniProt and enter an accession (e.g. P0DTC2) to load a public sequence. You can also paste a raw sequence or FASTA; headers, spaces and numbering are cleaned automatically.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no account, no login, and no sign-up. Assay just works.

How do I delete my saved data?

Open Settings and delete any saved construct or rotor individually (you'll be asked to confirm). Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.
